Why can't the non-woven fabric?

Sterile barrier performance is lost after use

According to research, the storage period of sterile items is closely related to the thickness of the  non-woven fabric and the number of layers. Disposable nonwoven packaging material, after a series of high temperature steam sterilization, chemical washing, the fibrous structure is deformed, and the cloth is sparse, the thickness is lowered, and even the small hole that is not easy to detect, the seminar is suddenly decreased or Losing the performance of the stream. In the "Disinfection Technical Specification", the requirements for packaging materials are: During storage, provide bacterial barriers, maintain a sterile state. If the disposable packaging material packaging instrument is repeated, the sterilized storage cannot reach a safe validity period.

Internal microscopic performance changes after sterilization

Non-woven fabric packaging materials are typically SMS composite non-woven fabric. The main material of this type of non-woven fabric is polypropylene, which is processed by the meltblown and spunbond process, and the microstructure is a thin plastic fiber (see figure below). Contracting after high temperature is the characteristics of the plastic item, the real high temperature resistant plastic is not, and high temperature is also a relatively concept, so the non-woven fabric will also have a corresponding contraction reaction in the micro.

After high-temperature sterilization, the non-woven thin plastic fiber will have a certain degree of contraction, which is manifested in use, the sterilized non-woven fabric is crispy before the sterilization, and the flexibility has decreased. The change in non-woven packaging materials is one of the reasons why non-woven fabrics can only be used.
